Daisy Pulls It Off Promo By: Brett Briggeman
The Hardin-Simmons University (HSU) theatre program is back again with their next performance, Daisy Pulls It Off. It will run from Oct. 8-11 in the Van Ellis theatre. Tickets can be bought online, at the door on show nights or by calling the box office at 325-670-1405.
Rachel Mastick, a senior theatre education major from Granbury, plays the lead role of Daisy Meredith.
“My favorite part of the show so far has been getting to act with all of my friends,” Mastick said. “They make every rehearsal so much fun, and everyone in the cast and crew has been incredibly supportive of one another.”
Mastick describes the show as an intriguing mystery that brings comfort while also having suspense and draws the audience in.
“Daisy Pulls It Off is like reading your favorite mystery novel on a rainy fall night, snuggled up with a blanket and a cup of hot chocolate,” Mastick said. “The story follows Daisy, a scholarship student who attends one of the most prestigious boarding schools in London. Along the way, she discovers lost treasure, forms new friendships and finds herself caught up in a mystery. At its heart, the show reminds audiences not to judge a book by its cover and not to dismiss someone based on their social class.”
India Vogt is a sophomore theater education major from Brownwood and plays the role of the main antagonist, Sybil Burlington.
“Some of my favorite parts of this show are getting to act with my best friend Rachel Mastick who plays Daisy, the fantastic set, as well as getting to perform with a British dialect,” Vogt said. “This show feels as if you were to sit down with a Cocoa or tea and an old British novel. With themes of friendship, overcoming bullies and sports trials, Daisy Pulls It Off has something for everyone.”
Daisy Pulls It Off is set to be another hit from the HSU theatre department that you will not want to miss. Be sure to get your tickets and be ready for a fantastic time getting to sit back and relax while enjoying the show.
