Denton Valley Farms: Endless Fall Fun By: Delani Bauer

Denton Valley Farms, the largest pumpkin patch in the Big Country, is located at 8740 County Road 224 in Clyde. The farm opened for the fall season on Sept. 13, with hours concluding on Nov. 2. It features a variety of fall-themed activities that offer hours of entertainment for visitors of all ages.

Voted one of the top pumpkin patches in Texas, Denton Valley Farms has become a popular fall attraction for many local college students.

General admission is $18.50 for ages 3 to 64 and $10 for ages 65 and older. Payment methods include cash, all major credit cards, debit cards and Apple Pay. Children under two are admitted free. Fall hours are Fridays from 5 p.m. to 10:30 p.m., Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. and Sundays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Combo tickets are available for $27 and include general admission activities, the Paintball Ride, a round at the Shootin’ Range and entry to the Forgotten Forest.

The farm boasts more than 40 attractions. General admission includes photo opportunities, mini mazes, bouncy houses, a football throw, tetherball, giant checkers, a sand pit, rat rollers, obstacle courses and much more.

New general admission attractions this year include an expanded petting zoo, mini ziplines, lasso ponies and Mine Town Racers.

No pets, outside coolers, outside food or drinks, or outside cups are permitted. One sealed bottle of water per person is allowed. Closed-toed shoes are recommended to enjoy all farm attractions.

A wide variety of fall-themed foods are available for purchase from two full-service kitchens, including lunch and dinner entrées, as well as homemade ice cream and floats.

Nighttime Forgotten Forest tickets are available for purchase for entry into the haunted house. This 20- to 30-minute walk through the forest features live actors, fog, lights and a three-story Victorian mansion.

Pony rides are available during select times for an additional fee and live music is performed on select days.
