Hollywood Night Recap. By: Abbey Pardue

SABERS had a fun night on March 7 at The Grace Museum where those in attendance dressed up for a night in the city of stars.

Students had the option to dress up in award show attire or as their favorite movie character.

The Hollywood-themed event was open to all Hardin-Simmons University students and involved a night full of music, dancing and a photobooth by Dynamic Pix. Two rounds of movie trivia were also held.

Tristan Tillman is a junior biology major from Aledo. She serves as an event planner for SABERS. “My favorite part was the photo booth,” Tillman said. “I loved that we could have the pictures sent to our phones or printed as photo strips. Such a great memory.” The pictures were high quality and fun to take with roommates and other friends.

Approximately 40 people attended the event. There were various contests and awards given out at the end of the night. Those who won trivia received trophies, and the best dressed winners received other recognitions. Awards were given out for two Best-Dressed Hollywood categories, and the winners of the best-dressed duo category were dressed in Space Jam outfits.

Hollywood Night was an unqualified success for SABERS. “I really enjoyed planning this event,” Tillman said. “Since we had a similar event last year, the planning process was a little bit easier.”

Since the event was off campus,Tillman and her team found it a little more challenging to make sure that they had everything they needed for the star-studded evening. However, SABERS Members helped set up everything, which made everything run more smoothly on the day of the event. “My committee helped create the movie trivia questions for the movie trivia game we had,” Tillman said. “The movie trivia was also another highlight of the evening, and everyone really seemed to enjoy it.”

Be on the lookout for future events hosted by SABERS this spring semester
