Revive 25 by: Brett Briggeman

Revive 25 is an upcoming three-day revival to be led by the Baptist Student Ministry (BSM) at Hardin-Simmons University, from April 14-16.

The event will take place on Anderson Lawn, with 24 hours of prayer being slotted for April 14-15. Each night of Revive will have worship, along with a message/sermon, with the event closing with baptisms.

“The BSM has been blessed with an awesome group of about 28 student leaders that have willingly given up their time and effort to help plan and prepare Revive 25,” Joel Williams, a junior Christian studies major from Jayton said. Williams is currently serving as an intern student leader for the Baptist Student Ministry.

“First of all, none of this would be possible without the consistent faithfulness of our God who has time and time again answered our many prayers for this event,” Williams said. “Secondly,  Roger Jackson, the HSU BSM director, has done a lot of the adulting side as far as reserving locations and equipment as well as fundraising and budgeting and has done a great job of delegating responsibility amongst all the student leaders. This has allowed them to do the fun part of planning for and serving in the 24-hour prayer tent as well as taking on other important tasks and roles of leadership.”

Williams said one of his favorite parts of planning Revive 25 is getting to spend time with other BSM leaders and have a deeper fellowship with them.

“I have enjoyed the amazing fellowship that we get to have with all the BSM leaders,” Williams said. “Psalm 16:11 says that in the presence of God is the fullness of joy. I interpret that as saying that following God is the most fun thing you will ever get to experience and that couldn't be truer than when getting to follow and serve Jesus with all the amazing student leaders. The way each leader just embodies the joy of the Lord makes planning and serving alongside each one of them so amazing.”

William’s hope for Revive 25 is that it would be a time where each student on campus could draw near to God and as He draws near to them.

“I pray that Revive would lead them to make radical commitments to Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior through salvation, baptism, discipleship and just any step of obedience that is put on their hearts,” Williams said. “I think it would be great for people to join alongside us with that prayer, just asking God to inspire students to make radical commitments to Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, as well as praying for the BSM student leadership's mental, emotional and spiritual wellbeing during this time.”
