The Winners of The Brand’s Second Photography Contest By: Marlee Sorrells

On behalf of the HSU Brand staff, our faculty advisors and myself, thank you to all Hardin-Simmons University students who submitted a photo for the Brand’s Second Photography Contest. While Brand staff members were not involved in the process of selecting the winners and we were ineligible to make submissions ourselves, we thoroughly enjoyed reviewing all of the entries.

After our panel of judges reviewed the submissions anonymously, they identified first place, second place, third place and honorable mention winners. The photos and the winning photographers are presented below:

The first place submission came from Esther Flowers, a junior strategic communication major from Garland.

The second place submission was entered by Woody Woodward, a sophomore information systems and computer science double major from Aledo.

The third place photo was submitted by Lindsey Klein, a junior exercise science major from Pleasanton.

The judges also selected a series of photos as honorable mentions. Those photos and their photographers are listed below.

This honorable mention photo was taken by Ashleigh Power, a sophomore chemistry major from Hurst.

The next honorable mention submission was taken by AJ Pardue, a sophomore Christian studies and business administration double major from Angleton.

The final honorable mention photo selected by the judges was taken by Javidan Aghayev, a freshman computer science major from Baku, Azerbaijan.

We would also like to recognize those students who submitted an entry but did not receive an award. Their names and information are listed below.
