Anderson & Lange War By: Emily Slaughter

Recently, at Hardin Simmons University (HSU), Anderson Hall, one of the men's dorms on campus, went to war with one of the women's dorms, Lange Hall. Anderson Hall’s videos have gotten a lot of traction on social media, and one of the videos before the war started reached over 243,000 views.

"Anderson Hall was trying to be more active on social media and wanted to boost Lange to post more," Sam Pritchard, residential director of Anderson Hall and currently seeking his master's in clinical & mental health counseling, said. "So we went to raid Lange Hall and printed QR codes and taped them all around their building inside to get them to follow us on social media." 

After that, Anderson and Lange went after each other on social media, and Lange Hall finally got their revenge on the residents of Anderson Hall. 

“My residential assistants and I found baby pictures of all RAs and the RD and snuck inside of Anderson Hall to tape the baby pictures all over Anderson Hall's lobby,” Brianna Martinez, resident director of Lange Hall and clinical & mental health counseling graduate student, said. 

“We would just tease each other, and Anderson even got their residents involved and had them stand guard in the lobby,” Aubrie De Los Santos, a sophomore art education major from Ballinger and a RA of Lange Hall, said. “They even had a cardboard fort on the desk. I mean it was crazy, but it was so much fun. Judging from how nothing else has happened after our prank, I think Lange won, 100 percent. They might have started it, but we came out victorious in the end.”

This war has brought laughter, revenge and developed a closer bond between residents and RAs of Lange and Anderson Halls.

"For as in one body we have many members, and the members do not all have the same function, so we, though many, are one body in Christ, and individually members one of another. Having gifts that differ according to the grace given to us, let us use them: if prophecy, in proportion to our faith." Romans 12:4-6
