The Hardin-Simmons University Baptist Student Ministry (BSM) is hosting Andy24 from 8 p.m. on March 29 to 8 p.m. on March 30 on Anderson Lawn. Andy24 is a 24-hour prayer event and a collaborative event with BSM, Hardin-Simmons and local churches in Abilene.

“We have always intended prayer to be at the heart of the way we lead in BSM,” Manny Silva, the Baptist Student Ministry Director, said. “We are mindful that we are a part of a large group of people who are praying for Hardin-Simmons. So, it all started with two questions. Why not here? God is moving on college campuses all throughout the country, so why not Hardin-Simmons? What if? was the second question. What if everyone who prays for Hardin-Simmons prayed continually for 24 hours?”

The event is being organized by a number of helping hands from different organizations. While the BSM, Hardin-Simmons and local churches are all involved, Silva states that God is responsible for what happens.

Students can participate by signing up for prayer slots, attending worship services and beginning to pray for Andy24. Many students are needed to fill the full 24 hours of prayer. For more ways to get involved, students may contact Silva.

Silva is looking forward to students praying for each other, churches working together, and busy schedules being paused for a time of praise.“The purpose of the event is simple,” Silva said. “That Hardin-Simmons and her students would be prayed for continuously for 24 hours and that there would be a God movement on campus. We have open hands for God to do with as He pleases. Anyone is welcome to attend Andy24 and the BSM hopes to see you there.”
