Taste of the World is an event taking place during the International Student Fellowship (ISF) International Week took place on Feb. 27, at 6 p.m. in the Johnson Building.
“Taste of the World is an exciting event where students can experience and celebrate diverse cultures through food,” Nina Taeasovets, junior business administration major and president of ISF from Ukraine, said. “Different countries will be represented, offering a chance to taste authentic dishes while learning more about the traditions behind them.”
There were many different countries represented in this event. Some of these countries include Ukraine, Kenya, Mexico, the United States, Brazil, China, Nigeria, India, Zimbabwe and more. Each country had various dishes to represent them.
“People should definitely attend this event not only to eat some very tasty food, but also to learn more about the world, build community and broaden perspectives.” Acacia Andersen, a sophomore biology major and current ISF major from Dukana, said.
This event was open to all Hardin-Simmons University current students and faculty.
“This event is a unique opportunity to explore global flavors, connect with international students and gain a deeper appreciation for different cultures—all in one place.” Tarasovets said. “Plus, it’s a fun and interactive way to expand your palate and try something new.”
Taste of the World is designed to bring people together and celebrate the difference in everybody’s culture.
“Taste of the World isn’t just about food — it’s about bringing people together, fostering cultural appreciation and celebrating the diversity within our community,” Tarasovets said. “We invite everyone to come, enjoy the experience, and connect with students from around the world.”
Along with Taste of the World, ISF has many other events planned for the entirety of International Week including a photo booth, an international chapel, a soccer
championship, an international buffet in the CAF, World of Wonder and more. All students are encouraged to attend these events and celebrate International Week with ISF.
