Touchdown into Spring By: Victoria Roach

With most sports being pushed into the spring semester, one sport most students are excited about is football.

Football season comes with tailgates and fun cheering on the Cowboys in Shelton Stadium. This season is unique and special as the Cowboys began preparing for this season all the way back in the fall with scrimmages against themselves during Cowboy Classic in September.

The team has been preparing and challenging themselves every day out on the field, working hard to be able to play better at every game this season. You can hear their practice music all the way from Moody campus center, so know when you hear the music the Cowboys are working hard. The first game of the season was postponed because of snow, and now we have already dominated McMurry in the first official away game. Hardin-Simmons University took over the game against McMurry with a score of 49 - 7.

We should look forward to this season with last year's wins against Trinity University with a win 16 - 10, win against Howard Payne University 63 - 20, Louisiana College 51 - 6, Belhaven University 63 - 8, win against East Texas Baptist University 45 - 0, Southwestern University 49 - 6, and last year’s win against McMurry 91 - 29. The Cowboys are ready for this season, are you?

If you missed the McMurry game then you should be excited for the next Cowboy Football game against Texas Lutheran University at home March 6 at noon. We will see you there.
